Mumby’s are delighted to welcome Karen, or Kaz as she’s known, to the Care Management Team. Kaz joins Mumby’s at a time of rapid expansion in the new role of Care Team Manager.

As Care Team Manager, Kaz will be overseeing our Care Managers and all of our Live-in Carers.

Qualifications and experience to support the roles of Care Management and Carers

Kaz brings a wealth of care knowledge and experience to Mumby’s and this role. She hopes to share this with her team, inspire them to become the best they can be, and allow them to gain greater confidence in their roles and skillsets.

She will be utilising her learning gained in achieving level 7 vocational qualifications in Leadership and Management and in Communication Skills. Kaz also has level 5 Life Coaching and levels 2,3 and 4 in Health and Social Care.

Kaz combines the wisdom gained through education with a history of work experience in Health and Social Care. In fact, most recently she worked as a skills tutor for Qube learning teaching and assessing NVQ level 2 3 and 4 and teaching Maths and English at level 2. Before that Kaz was a Field Supervisor for Bluebird Care and a Care Worker.

Haven worked as a Care Worker Kaz can relate to the concerns and responsibilities of our Live-in Carers. Additionally, her time as a Field Supervisor gives her the background to understand a Care Manager’s role and the support they need.

A positive can-do approach

The moment you meet Kaz, you notice her upbeat and helpful nature and positive outlook on life. Her useful way of working is to make lists of what needs doing. As she ticks off her to-do list, she is pleased that things are moving forward in the right direction. This feeds her optimism.

Kaz says, “I have a very empathetic nature and am passionate and motivated to support, assist and make a person’s life better. Also, I am a great listener, have a lot of patience and understanding and would like to put these attributes to good use to help to make a difference.”

What Kaz enjoys outside of work

Kaz has lived in Swindon for 20 years. Racing is a big thing for Kaz as her partner, daughter and many friends all race cars. Family is also hugely important to Kaz. She has a large family including five children, three stepchildren, four grandchildren and another grandson on the way.

She is a committee member for a boxing gym and in this role, she supports young children who use boxing to support their physical and mental health issues.
