Live-in Care Wiltshire

Live-in care has many benefits. With one-to-one care your loved one can remain in the comfort of their own home, surrounded by their precious possessions and memories and continue with their familiar routines.

This can be important for many older people, especially if they have problems such as dementia, which makes unfamiliar surroundings unsettling.

Live-in care offers you the peace of mind that your loved one is safe, happy and well cared for. You can visit them whenever you want, and they can continue to enjoy hobbies, shopping, outings and social events.

If you are looking for live-in care in Wiltshire, Mumby’s can provide the expert care you need for a comparable price to a care home.

Why choose Mumby’s live-in care in Wiltshire

At Mumby’s we choose our staff carefully and provide comprehensive training, so you can rely on your live in carer to look after your loved one safely and compassionately. We’ll match the interests and outlook of your loved one to a carer with similar values. This helps to ensure a good relationship develops between the carer and the cared for.
Dementia care at home

In addition, we select carers with a good knowledge of the local area. This means your carer will know where to find the services and facilities your family member needs. Your carer will be able to facilitate personal care, such as hairdresser visits and important medical appointments, as well as outings and social events. They can deal with the hassle of driving, parking and ensuring that a chosen destination has all the facilities required. This allows you loved one to relax knowing that any trip out will be safe, smooth and enjoyable.

A live-in carer can expand the possibilities available to your loved one and help them enjoy a rich, fulfilling life. Whether your loved one lives in Swindon, Salisbury, Chippenham, Trowbridge, Warminster, Melksham or Devizes, we can provide a live-in carer to help them enjoy a wide range of activities.

Places our clients love to visit

Here are just a few of the wonderful places in Wiltshire your loved one could enjoy with the assistance of their carer.

The glorious medieval city of Salisbury, with its stunning cathedral, offers many fascinating attractions as well as great shopping and food.

A trip to Salisbury wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the majestic early English gothic cathedral. The 800-year-old cathedral has the tallest spire in Britain as well as the world’s oldest working mechanical clock. You can enjoy the special peace that comes from being in an ancient religious building, standing inside the stone walls as sunlight streams through glorious stained glass. The Cathedral also houses an original 1215 Magna Carta, one of only four in existence.

The cathedral has disabled access and facilities, although some areas may be inaccessible to those with mobility problems. There are, however, many interactive exhibitions that are fully accessible.

Salisbury also has a fascinating museum, quaint streets to explore, a good variety of independent shops as well as excellent cafes and restaurants.

The Visit Wiltshire website has more information about Salisbury as well as many other enjoyable places to explore in Wiltshire.

Stonehenge and Avebury World Heritage Site

Visitors come from all over the world to visit Stonehenge, so if you are lucky enough to live nearby it is worth visiting this awe-inspiring site. As well as Stonehenge itself, there are scores of ancient monuments dotted over this around this area. Stonehenge has a great visitor centre that helps make sense of this prehistoric landscape. Further information about the ancient history of the area can also be found at the Alexander Keiller Museum in Avebury.

You can also visit the English Heritage website for more information.

Bradford on Avon

This charming village on the edge of the Cotswolds sits on the banks of the River Avon. A 13th Century stone bridge spans the river and provides a perfect spot to admire the river and village.

Bradford on Avon boasts great shopping as well as lovely cafes and restaurants so you can spend a pleasant day here. The village also has lots of events over the year and you can find out more about these at the  Bradford on Avon website.

For a stunning outing on a warm summer’s day, consider a trip on the Barbara McLellan Canal Boat. The boat serves drinks and snacks and has an outdoor seating area so you can admire the passing scenery. The boat has a powered lift to allow wheelchair users to board and leave the boat. There are also disabled toilets on the wharf.

Call 01380 721279 or visit the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust website for details.

The Palladian house at Stourhead is home to a remarkable collection of fabulous paintings and furniture, however, the property is most renowned for the picturesque landscape gardens. This classically inspired garden features tranquil lakes, temples and grottos, sweeping lawns and majestic trees.

This National Trust property has a comprehensive access policy, which makes visiting this garden rewarding for everyone. A stand out feature is the 6-seater buggy which transports visitors around the garden. The property also has all-terrain wheelchairs for hire.

Visit the National Trust page for Stourhead for more information.
